Fall Out Boy Does Something - OMG

From the School Library Journal, 5/6/2008 1:23:00 PM
Fans of James Patterson’s New York Times bestselling Maximum Ride series will have the opportunity to share the powerful environmental message of the latest book in the series, The Final Warning (Little, Brown, 2008), by entering a contest to create the official Maximum Ride Back to School public service announcement (PSA). The winner will be chosen by SugarLoot peers and will be flown to see their PSA professionally produced and filmed by Do Something. In support of the campaign and Do Something’s mission, popular rock band Fall Out Boy will appear in the PSA which includes a cameo role for the contest winner. The winner will also receive a Do Something grant to promote good works in their own community. The final Maximum Ride Back to School PSA will be aired nationwide across Channel One, a school based news broadcast reaching over six million teens across the country. SugarLoot is Alloy Media + Marketing's contest based social network site. Do Something is an online community designed to be a place where young people learn, listen, speak, vote, volunteer, ask, and take action to make the world a better place.
